★ Nick Graduated Tinley Park High School in 2013 and enlisted in the Marine Corps. He was the “Honor Graduate” for his 1833 Amphibious Assault Crewman course.
★ From July of 2014 to July of 2015 he volunteered to participate in a new experimental unit called the GCEITF(Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force). The unit’s mission was to test the implementation of women in combat specific jobs in the Marine Corps, as well as set new training standards for those jobs.
★ While in the GCEITF Nick took it upon himself to invent a new modification to his crew’s vehicle. This new piece of equipment allowed for quicker removal of spent .50 caliber rounds from inside the vehicle. The invention earned him a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and recognition from top members of his unit as well as the Marine Corps.
★ In August of 2015 Nick was promoted to the rank of Corporal
★ From February 2016 to August 2016 Nick was deployed to Okinawa Japan as a crew chief for 2nd Platoon Bravo Company 2nd AA BN. During his 6 month deployment he participated in exercise, LF CARAT (Landing Force Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training). During the exercise his landing force cross trained with the Thai, Filipino, and Malaysian militaries.
★ Nick was accepted into the Veterans In Piping Welding Program (VIP) in November 2016 and graduated the program in May 2017 . During the 18 week accelerated program Nick 3 welding certifications (UA 21, UA 76, UA 60).
